Yorkshire Marathon & Yorkshire 10 Mile Road Closures

Wednesday 8th September 2021

The Yorkshire Marathon and the Yorkshire 10 Mile are scheduled to take place on Sunday 17th October 2021. There will be a 09:30 start for the Marathon and a 10:15 start for the 10 Mile. Full information on the routes and each event can be found at the website: www.runforall.com.

Both events follow the same routes as previous years, with the Marathon and the 10 Mile both starting and finishing on University Road, YO10 5DD with areas of the event being based across York University. The Marathon runners will go left through the city centre to make their way to the A1036 where they will continue straight until they turn right on Common Lane. Runners will head to the A166 via Upper Helmsley and Sand Hutton where they will complete an out and back to turn left onto Straight Lane. Here they will go through Murton and Osbaldwick to then take a right onto Hull Road and make their way to the Finish Line on University Road.

The 10 Mile starts the same as the Marathon, however at 5 miles the runners will turn right onto Holby Lane and will rejoin the marathon route on Sandy Lane towards the A1079 to turn left onto Green Dykes Lane to the Finish Line.

To ensure the safety of runners on the day, there will be some road closures implemented. Attached is a copy of our road closure poster which details the closures that will be in place as well as the timings, a link to our online interactive version can be found HERE. Your help in sharing this information with your residents would be greatly appreciated. Run For All will always try to re-open roads as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

If you have any questions regarding access on the day, need any further information or would like to get involved in the event please contact Run For All via info@runforall.com.
