Parish Councillor

Simon Marsh

Simon has lived in York since 2009 and has lived in Fulford twice, most recently moving back in 2015, and joined the Parish Council in 2021. He worked in zoos and wildlife parks for over 20 years and is now a director of an animal welfare charity working to improve the welfare of captive wild animals around the world. Having grown up on a farm he has always had an interest in wildlife and this developed into a career and a passion in the conservation of animals and habitats at home and abroad. Simon has a strong interest in improving the local community and creating a healthy environment for people and wildlife. His other interests involve sustainable initiatives which combat the climate emergency at a local and national level.
